My Bronco 2

i'll swap it out to fullwidth's next IF i need to or come across the money. not a big deal.. the 30 swap will be wheeled!

swr set on my 2meter ham, its doesn't move my swr meter. that's good right? lol..
thinking of spending a little bit and getting a small cobra cb and 4 foot firestick. mount the cb in place of the ashtray so there's not another radio hanging from my dash. would like to have the cobra 75 (the cb that is only a mic) but it just costs to much.

i am a big fan of inset radio's, here's one's i was doin that are still in mockup for these pics there all done now well the b2 is completely different now as it has the same dash as my truck.

the b in-law's b2

For the life of me I cannot find a pic of mine which is in the ashtray location as well. i mounted an accessory 12v outlet in my center counsil (since it was in the ashtray) and an external speaker under the dash.

the first one is the plan, but to "finish" out the edges with something. so it looks stock..

i already have an external speaker on my dash for the 2meter, i'm just gonna tie them in together. i'll probably only run the cb on trails anyways; otherwise i'm on 2meter.. its so much quieter and nicer to talk on!

plan for the firestick will be on the swingout tire mount.. when i get to making it! lol
seems to be the safest place for it.

the 2meter antenna is shown in a pic earlier, i'll yank it off when going trail riding

unfortunately the cb never spent enough time in that dash to get finished out. ended up swaping interior shortly after that pic.

I have found the safest place for an antenna is to be on the front bumper near the center. however that isnt necissarly the best place for signal. i try to keep mine away form the outside's but i do run thru some tight spot's from time to time. ive taken out several antenna's on my truck now and for whatever reasone still havent moved it. it just seem's much easier to replace it than to revamp it. spring bases are good but when they are constantly rocking back and forth they wear out rapidly the second issure is if a limb catch's the antenna and it pull's it down that's fine until it releases and slap's into the next limb with force this time. Again doing this time after time take's it's toll on the antenna.

yeah.. the firesticks aint expensive tho.. hopefully i can go without breaking it to often lol..

other option is wilsons flexy antenna. i don't know the price on it tho, nor have i heard how good they are.

i had the freightliner antennas on my ranger the 4ft ones. and when i rolled it they held up haha they are on my f150 right now plus ive dragged them along in underground parking lots and banged off many lights and such

that's the way my 2meter antenna is. its always getting dragged across something.. but never rollled lol

Got my v8 ZJ steering stuff today for the d30. $14 at the local pull a part. Granted I will be using new TRE's on it. But the drag link n all that is good. Including the steering stabilizer..

cool. I wish I would of upgraded to that steering.

yeah its a big step up.. i looked at the differences when i was on the lot today. its a big difference in size. makes it look super beefy..

IDK with all the issue's ppl are having with the factory jeep stuff i sure am glad i went crossover. I never really had to deal with any death wobble. and I even drove it for awhile with worn out heim's

i plan on crossover-- later. right now i want to steer and get the sas done as soon as possible. the v8 zj steering is a beefy setup for stock. but as soon as the swap is finished and i figure out the exact way of crossover (and have the funds) i'm sure i'll do that to.

got a couple more parts together for my swap. i got some stock tj springs, but i sure they won't give me the height i need... looking at jester's build almost makes me wanna do leafs and be done.. it could be done quickly and a lot cheaper... but i want coils!
