My Bronco 2

maybe start cleaning up that dana 30 get it painted and such.. i dunno. im at the same point. im waiting on one part that stops all other progress, and trying to keep busy

yeah i guess i could do that.. but its stashed behind my brothers trailer w/ all his stuff in it, he lost his house and is living w/ us for the moment.

but thats work-- i don't wanna do work! lol. i wanna just do something fun :icon_rofl: idk..

i might dig that dirty 30 out and pressure wash it then start cleaning it up.

and yes a lincoln locker is cheap but the 7.5 is hopefully coming out in the next month or so.. have an 8.8, once i get a shaft for it. need to start trying to sell the 3.73's for the 7.5/d28 and my front lift kit. maybe that'll give me enough to sas, if not-- i could drive the ex for awhile.

also have some blue led's that mount in the grille i could do lol.. act like a cop!!! lol. nah, i don't need another ticket= less money to sas

..i have an aussie for the 8.8??? lol

don't wanna lincoln lock my dd.. i wasn't a fan of it when i drove a buddy's truck

30's a live axle... no hub disconnets== not gonna happen lol

right.... rock lights? i dunno how cheap itd be but itd work with your truck especially if you get tinted ones

yeah i plan on doing some rock lights. that's a good idea.. i think i have some small off road lights laying around! lol.. i know i have plenty of wire and relay's..

think i'll change out my hella's for those cheap flood pattern lights i have.. i'm not a fan of the spot light patterns on the front, hard to see bumps and stuff

Do they sell a kit to get locking hubs? I know on xtreme 4x4 they did the unibearing elimination on the dodge fuel saving truck and that kit came win locking hubs

Yeah they sell a kit. It's pricey tho.. If I ever come across the money for the kit; I'll just find a d44/9" combo and get new rims. Lol. The hub kit is around $800 on the cheap side. If I ever decide to do that I shouldn't have a problem at least parting out a built 30 since I am a member of a jeep club. But I'm not worried about that.. As long as the 30 don't break- it'll stay in there probably.

You should have done a 44 to begin with IMO. But hey its your truck.

44 means FW rear means new rims means a lot of things.. Including more money. I can switch to a 44 later like krousinoffroad is.. Same long arms n all.

30 gives me right width, bolt pattern, and is stronger than 28. I've seen 30's preform. I know a lot of the guys here don't agree with me but hey.. I'll live n learn. If I was wrong and the 30 won't preform like I assumed and have seen the jeeps do. I'll admit it, swap out a 44.

I'm not saying it won't because I have no experience. I swapped to a D35 only for the cost and simplicity. If I ever need to upgrade down the road, I'll go D44 TTB for the ease of it. I see no point in the trouble of a SAS for the stuff I do.

Meh the way I see it anything that gets you on the trail is good enough. Did everyone start with completly modded out trucks? I definetly don't think so. You add a bit then end up on a harder trail then add a bit more then do this over and over untill ur at the point you can't build much stronger/ bigger. Like you said you can always swap bigger later on, plus having somthing that isn't locked at both ends with 450 horse and a doubler and 50" tires and super stable just makes you learn how to drive bettter b4 you get into the gnarly stuff

X10000

NMB2 is a perfect example of this his truck was once on a dana 30

I dont regret swaping the 30 one bit. i wasnt ready for fullwidth's and didnt wanna dick around with the TTB. If Anything i regrett swapin to the 44 more than I do swapin in the 30.

with fullwidth's came wider offset. mean's NO chance of the truck staying clean EVER. it also mean's different lug pattern and i liked the wheel's I had before alot more. it alos mean's larger tire's and I'm having a heck of a time finding a spare tire right now. so i guess the trusty 33 will remain as my spare for now.

But there are alot more positive's for me. at least there is in the near future.
