My Bronco 2

It's great. My buddy has saved me a ton of money. He wouldn't let me give him a thin dime when he rebuilt my T5. He even pulled it and put it back in.

Wow! Now that's a friend.

yeah, thanks Shane... i like seeing my work. i like seeing the changes of what i've done..
i'm a little slow at times... but i love building.
this project has been a father son build kinda thing to.. nothing to major but enjoy spending the time w/ my ole man.

Cam, the guy doing my gears tonight, has the proper tools to do it right... my dad and i can gear, we just don't have the proper tools to measure the backlash and all that stuff.

with that being said, the major build section of this rig is coming to an end after the front axle, winch, and rear bumper... then its the never ending small stuff!! then the next plan is to update my DD to a newish f150... keep the b2 as a NICE weekend rig. i don't plan on ever hardcore wheeling it in... don't plan on beating it or bashing it. it will stay streetable and it will stay as a commuter type rig on 33's. once i'm not DD'ing it anymore i'll add Mud Terrains. might do mud terrains on steelies and keep at's on the procomps.

if you have real friends... you have people with different skills. i have a friend that's awesome w/ computers but doesn't do mechanic work... so when he needs something done on his lil ranger, i'm the guy.. when i need to fix my screwups on my laptop, he's the guy. its a never ending cycle. :icon_thumby:

Yeah, my trade to him is sort of like this. I maintain his webpage and do his advertising for him (creating ads, brochures, business cards, etc.). But that stuff is all cake to me - and transmissions are cake to him. He's pretty proud of himself when he finds his way to Youtube on the computer.

I think I get the better end of the stick though, LOL.

you ain't kiddin! :icon_rofl:
but its all good. as long as everyone is happy in how the deal turns out.

need to know where i can order Dana Spicer parts ASAP.
broke a carrier cap bolt... want new bolts.
discontinued at Ford... TruckPro is the only Dana Spicer dealer in my area and they won't answer the stupid phone.

diff is geared, kinda... broke a bolt... gotta find some quick. will use junkyard at a last resort if i have to.

How did you break that bolt?

Broke when torquing it to 55 ft lbs...
TRS says 47-67 ft lbs... So....

hope to get to work on the b2 a good bit tomorrow. start rebuilding the trans, get the diff cover back on, fluid back in, wire wheel/grind/something to clean up the d35, and go pick up a free rim for my spare tire... i guess thats it? idk.. its gonna be busy and i still got class tomorrow night... oh well.

got everything cleaned today and the trans ready for reassembly.
got all the clutch packs built tonight also.

plan on having the trans together in one piece by 9 am in the morning.
hope to be driving it before the weekend is over.

lets see... nothing went right today. but the trans and t/case are built and back in the b2. i just couldn't do anymore work to finish it up. i still need to adjust the bands (forgot......), get the dipstick in, get trans fluid in it, battery cables back on, put 2 more bolts in the t/case... and... uh, whatever else.

today has SUCKED..but its nice to see the trans back in the b2.
will get back on it early in the morning to try to finish it all up and drive it.

found out what the problem was.. a thrust washer broke and caused the overdrive gearset to stick...
