My 87 Ranger I will be restoring soon I want to keep track of my progress and add information as I find it.

I got my 4 samples in the mail today. I used the color under the door trim for comparison.

Probably not the best picture but my carpet is Regatta Blue 9304 from OC Carpet. I just got done ordering it. Hope to start on interior next weekend.

I have had problems with my brake and tail
lights. Dorman makes a great replacement socket. White to Orange, Red to Brown and Bkack for passenger side. Better then factory socket.
IMG_3722.jpeg

Original is just crusty. I will do drivers side at a later time. It needs it as well.
IMG_3724.jpeg

Bigger contacts from Dorman.

Finally got lights working, bumper on, tailgate guard on, and center piece on. I need to get a new tail gate guard and rear bumper is bent and just beat up on both sides. I will replace it later but piggy bank says it has to wait.
IMG_3726.jpeg

I have another center piece. Neither are perfect but I will look into detailing both and see what I can do to get as perfect to possible at a later date.

Cab light gasket is shot. Will see if I can order one some where.

I
It was muddy inside light. Cleaned it as best as I could and painted. Dogs have to get in picture.

Most likely OC Carpet sells ACC carpets, most places do. It was around 20 years ago, but I'm almost certain that is the same color carpet I installed in my '84 around 2003. It looked great and fit good too. I'm going to need to order again when time comes for the 85 build. I still have the 84 and carpet was still nice when it was totaled in '09, but I imagine that weather exposure and other things have destroyed it by now.

If you don't already know, let the carpet sit out in the sun to warm up and relax before you try to install it.

Thanks Josh T. It had been a while since I have installed carpet. I forgot about ACC. Last time I bought my carpet from OC Carpet and was happy with it so went with them. Letting it relax does help a lot. I really wish they made it more direct to fit. I know there is a lot of trimming and getting it right the first time is not quite as easy. Thanks for the tips.

I never checked my cab light since I owned the truck. Got it installed and it worked. Wahoo.
IMG_3731.jpeg

Digging around I found another number in better shape. I did swap the lower piece from my original bumper to my replacement bumper.
IMG_3734.jpeg

I used Adhesion Promoter and plastic paint.
IMG_3736.jpeg

I needed a front license plate holder and still need a bumper bolt but it is on still need to do some detail work on the bumper. Windshield leaks so I am going to make an appointment this week to get it replaced. It has needed one for a while, just wanted to do it after painted.

Next project is getting the coil springs replaced. Hoping it goes easily and the bolts holding spring on free up easily. Sagging front end is why I did not go with 31 inch tires. It will get them when these wear out.

I am building up material to do interior. Got thus sound deadening material and it came with a roller.
IMG_3739.jpeg

Here you can see my cab sags. The bed is all the way down. I got some body bushings to raise the cab.
IMG_3742.jpeg

I got body bushings from LMC trucks. I was hoping to get a smoother ride but these are stiff. Maybe I will still get a little better ride. At least get the cab and bed level with each other.

If all goes to plan, I will have this Bronco by the end of the week. Great guy I met. He does his own automotive work. Has a cool 51 Mercury and some other great projects in the works.
It is a project and needs painted. I really have plans to have it nearly done in just a few months. 88 Bronco2 XLT.

Cool. As much your cab has dropped, any bushings will make for a better ride than what you have. Just hope you mounts aren't rusted out. Mine are pretty bad but there was enough metal left around the outer edges to just use a couple big washers on either side.

Thanks SenorNoob.. I am hoping that levels my cab and I am wanting a much better ride. Eventually I want to get my leaf spring bushings replaced and see if that helps. I think mine are in great shape. Or so I hope.lol

Is it easier to do two at a time? I'll gladly drop off my Bronco II to make it easier for ya!

The truck looks good... I dont have enough patience for body work.

I'd kill for those fender flares and running boards. I put a lot of them on "back in the day", but just try to find a set now!

And, unfortunately, I'm getting to where I could actually use those grab bars like it has . . .

Get the B2. Just do it. It has the PERFECT color combo. Here's my '90 (back in better days):

Some of my trucks are tight, some not so tight. On sound deadening my looser trucks, I'd have to do it all at once like you're doing.

You see, on my more "beater" trucks, I just don't like it when a familiar rattle suddenly stops. It's a worrisome sign that some part has finally completely fallen off.

Hello Uncle Gump... I too thought the more projects I had the faster it would go. I have my gold bronco that has a motor sitting in the corner of the shop. I keep thinking I would see it installed on its own. Notyet, maybe I give it a little more time it will happen.
