My 2002 ranger 3.0 wont turn over

The guy also reset my key and gave me a new blank un-programmed key so when it somes time i can program the two keys to the truck

I'm pretty sure you need two keys to reprogram any key to the vehicle.

Alright. I tried splicing the two wires and still got nothin. After further investigation i found that terminal number 30 in the 2002 PCM goes to the anti theft light. That theft light must be operational in order for the entire PATS system to work.

I'll have to run a wire from the number 30 terminal to the "anti-theft" light itself. Ill try that and see what happens.

Having no luck with this thing. I'm gonna try to track down a 2002 engine harness. I'll have to change over the injectors for sure and the O2 sensors I'm pretty sure.

If you have an 02 then why are you trying to install a 99 harness? The 99 block and 02 blocks are the same (okay minor changes), mount the 02 stuff on and it should fire up? They are both OBII system engines.

I have a 1999 engine/harness. It's impossible to find the right year of engine for the right price. I scored this 1999 engine and trans for $200 so i figured what the heck, I'm into it cheap.

I also can't find a single 2002 engine harness that is for a 3.0, 2WD, automatic at least not in Oregon. I found one in Iowa If i do find any people dont want to seperate it from the engine.

Okay, the theft light comes on and doesnt flash now. As soon as the key is turned to the "On" position the theft light emediatly turns off. The theft light is illuminated with the key in or out of the ignition and again, only turns off when the key is in the "On" position.

That leads me to believe its PATS, What do I have to do if it is the PATS?

I just went out and looked at how my anti-theft light works. Key off/out, light flashes - key on, light is constant then times off.

If there is a PATS problem the light will either flash rapidly or light steadily when the key is turned to run or start. Possibles for PATS activation are:
1. incorrectly encoded key
2. damaged encoded key
3. un-programmed key
4. non-encoded key
5. damaged wiring
6. damaged transceiver
7. damaged PCM

Apparently electronic devices on the key ring can cause the PATS system to not function or large metal objects and another ignition key.

What happened to the original harness from the truck? I am confused here. Why not put the 02 stuff on the 99 motor and leave the original harness in the truck?
