hey ya'll, I was wondering what kind of gas mileage you guys got after a mustang 4.6/5.0 swap? Has anyone tried dropping the 5.4 in there?

A 4.6/5.4 are gonna require a lot of work, because the are massive engines. A 5.0 would fit nicer.

I bet you could probably pull a good 20mpgs with a FI v8, just because its a small package.

I get a low of 16mpg, up to the mid twenties.
Mostly irresponsible window-down type driving... (listening to the motor)

It's way better than the 4.0 I replaced.
(stock 5.0, headers, underdrive pullies, cone air filter, T-5 manual, 3.55gears)

I'll do a mild highway drive someday. The 5th gear in the T-5 is significantly taller than the original trans.

Unless its been swapped or upgraded, 5th gear in the T-5 is 1:1...The T-56 (6-spd) came with a 1:1, 0.76:1 or 0.50:1
