Seen a few of these on the interweb. Makes me wonder if this is where they got the idea of a Mustang inspired SUV

Who got the idea?

They played the Mach 1 up as an all electric sports car at NAIAS.

The headline on that Jalopnik article sounds like Michael Scott just started throwing Ford model names around like corporate buzz words.

Yeah, the Mach 1 concept seems to have fallen apart since the show.

It sounds like the SUV thing went down the night of the show, the article I liked was posted 1-14-18.

I think overhype happened more than the actual car concept falling apart.

I had it pictured like a super hot Toyota 86 sized electric sports car at the show (and until now because I never really cared enough to research it)

My mistake guys, I was trying to make the conversation more about the ranger with a mustang grill than the actual mustang SUV. There are other pictures of Global rangers with this grill. I like it. Do you think the New to USA ranger will eventually get these kind of aftermarket goodies. Because the old Ranger was very scarce in the aftermarket arena and left Ranger owners either looking like clones or spending stoopid money on custom paint jobs to stand out from the pack.

Sport 2wd compact pickups have typically kind of fizzled on the launchpad.

Ranger GT, S-10 Xtreme, whatever the Dakota with the 360 was called (R/T?) They are very few and far between.

Maybe so, but that is the market for me. I like my trucks like I like my women, fast and a big box for me to put stuff in. :icon_hornsup:

But ya'll feel free to keep this going. It was getting good good. I personally think it's just some dumb idea from marketing department to use/revive a familiar name on a new platform.

I would use the "Mach 1" name like Chevy uses "SS".

mustang suv......

yeah....so?

back in the old days

its was called a fawking bronco :thefinger::thefinger:
