I want to put mustang rims on my 87 std cab ranger but i would like to see how the sifferent styles would look first. Anyone have pics? Tnx

Not my truck, but I really REALLY wanted to put a set of Magnum 500's on mine. This is a scan of the Hot Rod Magazine issue where they did a V-8 swap in a 1st gen Ranger back in 1986. Sorry for the bad quality.

Those go way back, at least to the early 70s. My brother had those on his 71 Boss 351 and on his 70 Boss 429.

I know it's a 97 but here's 2005 GT wheels on my beater

Those look really good on the white ranger. Those are from an 05-07 right? Did you need any spacers r did the bolt on perfect?

thats not his truck, he was just posting it for you... if you check out the link to the build he provided, it says in one of the posts he used thin spacers, but it does not specify the exact thickness

They look like 05-? V6 rims to me. I am not sure when they quit making them, they usually had the knockoff style hubcaps on them IIRC.

Like clvanhorn stated, she ain't mine. :icon_thumby:

I think i might get some of those until i can afford some cobras. Anyone know wat spacer i will need to make those 16"s fit?

I know my '05 stang wheels have 6.5" of backspacing. I need at least a 1.5" spacer to make them not rub

cobras can be cheap if you find an unsuspecting seller. i have a friend who got some 17" cobra r's chrome for like 300 bucks with tires. keep an eye out on cl

You mean like these that were on the 84 in my sig:

Couldn't tell you what they were off of, dad put them on the truck probably 20 years ago. They are the 14" painted version, and those came on a number of Ford cars back then. I eventually swapped to 16" stock Ranger wheels, because of the larger selection of tires. Unfortunately that truck has since been totaled.

I'm putting 03-04 17" Mach 1 wheels on the 86 I'm building now. I know that they would need a spacer for both front and rear, but not how thick. With my Explorer rear axle no spacer is needed, but it's about 3" wider than the stock axle IIRC. Don't know what the front will need as I'm no where close to the point of mounting them yet.
