Any 4 or 6 cylinder engine will sound horrible with anykind aftermarket exhaust when it has no cat converters on it. Start with having those put back on, and then you can use most mufflers to fit your liking. Exhaust pipe size and location has alot to do with also. The engines health also involves exhaust note and tone.
Those 94 4.0 engines sound good with flowmaster...personally my choice would be, get cat converters back on there and use 2.5" piping routed like the stock exhaust is, use either a flowmaster original 40 or flowmaster deltaflow 40...use a single in and single out mufflers. With either of those mufflers it will sound, even 2.25" piping will make that 4.0 sound good. Its a simple system that will look and sound good.
