I bought a Mountain States Edition Ranger a few months ago. There is a badge on the fender and a mountain sticker across the back window. Anyone know anything about this? I have never heard of it.

I saw a late 80's Bronco 2 a while back that had Idaho and mountain scenes painted across the sides of it, but never seen a Mountain States Edition yet. I'm sure they exist, but not sure what all that means as far as possible different option packages. Could just mean it has a cold weather package of some sort as well.

Sounds to me like a dealer made a few of them. Just like you see the "Texas edition" and others like that. Just a tactic to sell them at the dealer. I don't think ford ever made such a thing called the mountain edition.

I found one of those at the junk yard about 4 years ago. I still have the badges in my junk drawer.

Hmm. The only thing that seems unique about it is it has exploder 15" deer hoof wheels and 31s and the badges. Not sure if that is stock though. It has most options including the slider window and the pop out ext cab windows and cruise but no A/C. Guess it is not needed here in the mtns. LAME!

"Mountain States" edition Ford Ranger. The Mountain States package was only sold in western states. and included under chassis skid plates (fuel. tranny. transfer case. diffs. and centre bearing). 4WD. AC. premium wheels. Dana 35 axle. rear antilock brakes. colour keyed headliner. and 1" inch higher ride height.
