is there a difference between the 4wd and rwd mounts, can someone help me out here or post a link to a motor mount kit? the one on rockauto states rwd but it looks all the same to me. motor and trans mounts, i want to do all of them in one go

I think the motor mounts are the same. Trans maybe different because on a 4wd you have a transfer case instead of a tailshaft.

Go on autozone or something and compare part numbers.

Don't limit yourself to rockauto. You can research parts on other sites also. I looked up a 1986 ranger with a 2.9 on Autozone, and the drivers side motor mount is different between the 2wd and the 4wd.

Might be due to the different crossmember....didnt think about that

yea dude i checked other sites, it’s pretty hard to tell the difference between little pictures, best i could find is the 4wds made after 10/90 were different mounts for the trans and my truck is the 90 so i have to research vin to find when it was made🤦‍♂️

Look on the door tag.

Plus part numbers are better then shitty little pics to compare by.

Welcome to owning a Ford. They were famous for changing things mid-year.

I would not go by the pictures, who knows what they have in the picture. Make sure you go by the part numbers. They do not like to keep a bunch of stuff in stock on the shelves, so if it can interchange they will do it under one of their part numbers.
