im looking for some more power.not a lot but enough...got any suggestions??
i drive a 99 3.0 v6...and im on a budget...thanks

words like "horsepower" and "cheap" do not belong in the same sentence together.

the cheapest way to get more power? wind the engine up. if you arent shifting at about 4500 RPM your shifting too soon.

the biggest bang for the buck is underdrive pulleys, followed by regearing and a tuner.

dont be fooled by "cold air intakes" and claims of gains with exhaust systems or e-fans. these simply do not work.

well it all boils down to the almighty question again, like all things that can be modified, the question is what can i do to it? the answer: how much do you want to spend? the answer to that question is what really underlines what youll end up buying.

Little life lesson about cars and trucks:
A car or truck can be 2 of these three things:
Fast
Cheap
Reliable
Theres no possible way to get all three.
Good luck, we're all tryin the same thing

EXCELLENT way of putting it beef.

What kind of power can camshafts deliver while still being good for DD?

Also I think your budget is just enough for a re-gearing, which is the first thing I'd do.

again, i personally havent put a different cam in my 3.0 but ive heard it would be tough to upgrade a stock cam and keep it reasonable to DD.
One thing worth looking into is 1.7 Roller Rockers. They will raise your Max Valve lift and give you the same thing as putting a cam with more lift in and be much easier.

thanks everybody..lots of great info...ill look into it all

1.7 Roller Rockers..........$100.00 On a local swap meet.
K&N Drop in Air Filter........$50.00 At Autozone, O'reillys, NAPA, etc.
Now Here is the trick:
Stock Posi traction rear differential 4.56:1. $90.00 at our local Pick And Pull Yunk Yard.
The other $60.00 where gone on beer and munchies during instalation.
The differential comes from a 2002 and it is original gears.
