It never fails. At least once a winter, I will get freezing rain. But this time, snow got put into the mix. All this added together equals fun driving. Got out and did some nice turn drifts. And a perfect 360.

Night before the freezing rain. Ranger is growing an ice beard.

Day 1 Morning: De-iced the truck only to have snow fall on it all through the day.

nice pics! drive safe now dont wanna wreck the ranger.

nice...we managed to dodge most of the ice up here, I had a really thin layer, maybe 1/4" on my cars and on the trees, fences, power lines, etc but the roads were only wet by yesterday morning. We did get a little more snow than OKC it looks like though. And since I'm in a thinly populated county with only 3 snowplows...it's a little nasty.

Keep it down there lol. My friend at Tinker AFB was so excited that base was closed and she didn't have to work.

I cleared off the driveway this morning and just got back from drifting around a bit with my dad. The roads around here arent as bad as i would have thought from a couple days of winter weather. just a little slushy on the main roads. I guess the city learned their lesson after the Christmas storm

i wish the va dot would figure it out. they hosed all the main roads with a brine solution so it would be easier to plow. but they wait untill the storm is passed to plow letting the melted stuff freeze and get driven over. makes a huge mess and now there will be cars stuck in the median and ditches on the side of the road everywhere...idiots

WTF is wrong with the wipers in the above pictures? I'm in IL and we never put our wipers out like that.

Really? People around here do it all the time in icy weather

I was also happy that Tinker AFB closed. I really didn't feel like doing inventory.

The ice that I broke off from the Ranger was at least 1" thick. And 3~4" of snow on top of the ice.

Nothing wrong with the wipers. They were orginally frozen under 2" of ice. Then I de-iced the windshield and left them up. So when the next wave of ice and snow comes, I would be able to find them and chisel them free easier.

And sadly. Thou I had fun playing in the snow with the Ranger. Somebody else had a bad day with their Ranger.

that is sad. that guy proably blames the truck for the wreck too. God forbid it be driver error

I am so glad we missed the ice last week... by about 10 miles. North of us they were out of power for a couple days, and that is never fun.

So they dont freeze to the windsheild.

Okay, just I have never done that, I usually let the truck warm up, defrost on, no problems, or put cardboard on windshield. I typically don't use wipers until the defrost is up to temp.
