More Bronco hear say.

Do you have a reservation?

It appalled a lot of people when reserved one last fall but I figured we wouldn't get it for at least a year. Wait two years and you are going to be fighting hideous dealer markup for a long time like the Raptor buyers did as they slowly trickled out of the factory. On a special order most dealers do at least MSRP, you can find some under without trying too hard.
I will absolutely get it below sticker 😉.

He said he built a 302 for it and was not happy with the turn out so now it has a built 351 modified. sound super clean and really mean. He figured it's got about 700 hp at the fly wheel but hasn't had it on a dyno yet.
Ooo, A built 351M...

Oh. THAT'S what the M is. I know C=Cleveland and W=Windsor. Now I know that M=Modified (I was wondering about that).

There’s 2 theories, as Ford never officially stated what M stood for...
M could be modified or it could be Michigan Casting Plant.

Both appear to make sense, assuming that the M series were manufactured in Michigan. C and W correspond to the plant where the engine was built, if I read wikipedia right. On the other hand, M family engines were, if I read right, a modified C family.

The plot thickens.....

The 400 was never called an M, only the 351. The 351 was a 400 with a shorter stroke to make it a 351.

It was a weird deal

Dads '80 400 had some jazz about being in the 5.8M family on the valve cover but listed 6.6 for the displacent.

No idea why they bothered mentioning the other engine.

Anyway, in Bronco news:

And now they have new parts constrains on the Bronco, luckily we have two on ours; hardtop and tow package.

So that is just... really nice. :annoyed:

To lose it one must first have it...

I spent most of yesterday at a bridal fair, it was a weird weekend.

I'm pretty sure you will have to have your new dress lengthened...

They should have have done the bottom green... and the top white for maximum fan reaction.

I generally do not like the white tops on the new Bronco much at all... with the heritage wheels this color with the white top and grille works very well.
