Hi my name is luis I saw the www.moranav6racing.com site and saw a few parts for my ranger, does any one has bought any parts from this site? did they improve your ride? is it worth to pay 1,200.00 for the heads? any help is great thanks!

im looking 2 build the 3.3 stroker w/ a lot of parts from there as well, thats a build in progress, ported heads are great but youll need to port the rest of the system and/or get headers to really feel a dif, if your looking for more power i would first recommend flashing the computer, underdriving or regearing first b4 i got ino 1200 dollar heads unless your planning to go thru the whole motor like i am. my motor is shot so going thru it isnt a biggie for me.

if your going to do the cam you might as well port the intake and get headers too but im not sure if hes up to spending that amount of money, thats why i recommended the other mods first, its all part of a stage 3 engine besides forged internals. he may see some improvements particularly on top end w/o the cam. still if your going to port the heads and cam it roller rockers are a must. the morana ported heads are stage 3 heads w/ oversized valves which is to be desired for high performance setups but the rest of the work has to be done to make a difference in my opinion. kind of like putting headers on a stock exhaust system, great that you opened up the flow but you need to do the rest to really make a difference.

What about a stage 3 cam what else should i change?

if your doing the heads and stage 3 cam, go ahead and port the intake (upper and lower) install headers (jba makes some) and get an exhaust system installed (magnaflow high flow cat and muffler is a good one to look at there are many other arguements on this look at the exhaust section of the forum) and get 1.7 lift roller rockers. this will increase the lift your larger valves make, just let the person doing the cam grind know your using them that way the cam can be ground properly. then you can have your ecm reflashed to compensate for the extra flow. the k&n intake kits dont help at all, if you want to help your flow id suggest a drop in filter of some kind, ive run purolators for a long time and they do pretty well. a decent underdrive pulley and possibly regearing your trk should help out a lot as well. keep in mind the engine mods im speaking of are fat wallet upgrades.

if your doin all of that you might as well get a bigger throttlebody while your at it.

i cant believe you guys are even considering dropping this kind of cash on a 3.0.

your talking about spending THOUSANDS of dollars for what MIGHT get you 50-75 HP at the very, VERY best. a turbocharger could be installed for under a grand and will net you 100 HP EASY for less money and less work :no2:

the only thing i would buy from morana would be the stroker bottom end, and then only if i planned on over 12PSI of boost. any other machine work could be done locally for cheaper and id have more control over the final product.

not to be redundant but i posted in my last post that these are "fat wallet upgrades." if the guy wants to try them i dont see a problem, im just trying to help him understand that heads and a cam are not enuff to make huge amounts of power, it has to be used in conjunction of the other mods done to the rest of the system in order for it to make a difference. sludge is right it is easier/cheaper to throw on a turbo or super and make more power for your money, but ultimately if your looking for huge numbers the heads and the rest w/ the turbo super will make an added increase cuz your letting the engine breathe and can take extra boost. only one problem, the factory hypereutectic pistons and cast rods cant take that much boost. if your going to do all of the above and make huge amounts of hp your goin to need a forged bottom end, and the only one readily available (w/o custom ordering from manufacturers) is the 3.3 kit. since my motors toast im doing all of the above and am hoping to make 300 hp, but this is strictly to keep mustangs in check and a timeslip, not practical for daily usage. (i may decide to use it daily but for the most part shell drink a lot of gas...) its your motor and your money you decide on what you want from it, but as far as just slapping heads and a cam on it and calling it good dont waste the money. for the power dif go w/ a light forced induction setup or do little things like regearing underdriving headers and a good drop in filter.

the stock bottom end is good for 250HP easily (roughly 12 PSI). if you arent planning for more than 250 HP, i wouldnt waste money on heads, cams, or anything else...as that can be easily acomplished with forced induction. if 250 HP isnt enough for you, then you'll need the forged bottom end and if i were to spend the scratch on that kit, i would go all out (nothing shy of 400 HP).

but thats just my .02.

well i want to know if there is a turbo kit for 3.0l that would better can a jet chip be used if i put a turbo kit?

there is no "kit", you would have to obtain and assemble the parts yourself.

some type of programmer or chip would be required to tune the engine for the turbo.

the jet chip doesn't fit for a turbo?

i doubt a jet chip will work, your probally going to need a custom tune. I believe Rogue Performance does alot of this. Someone correct me if im wrong.

you could probably contact jet and have them burn you a chip to fit your application (you'll have to tell them what MAF, injectors, and probably a few other tuning specifics). you'll get better results from a tuner and spending a day at the dyno.
