Mike's '93 4x4

I don't even get where that's still coming from.

Hey man, blame multi. I think he started it! Or Nathan, one of the two.

But really though, so awesome your truck passed safety. Gonna feel good getting it plated, for sure!

I am innocent! I been outa town!!! Mike knows I think his truck is bad ass! Some things you just gotta ease into... :D

yeah multi started it.. but im only kidding i hope you know.. love your truck

so now that its plated....road trip to Saskatchewan for some wheeling with me? :D

Whats next on list of mods? ......I vote locker....

I vote locker as well. A front one. Maybe an Aussie? :D

I'm thinking a lunchbox locker out back will be one thing I really want to do. When I do gear I'll get some proper lockers.

Going to have to wait a day for the insurance unfortunately. But hey, no big.

yeye locker out back first....thats what i did.

Now I know you know what you're talking about Nathan, so don't take this the wrong way. But IMO lock the front first, it makes the most sense. There is more weight on the front end, and there is more traction pulling than pushing. There is next to no weight on the back of our trucks, so it makes the most sense to lock the front first. Everyone I have heard of that locks the rear first has always said they wished they locked the front first. An open or even l/s front is a real let-down in a lot of cases, even with the rear locked. Take it with a grain of salt, just my .02!
Bummer about waiting a day for insurance, Mike. But one day is better than the last... what, five months or so of waiting? :icon_thumby:

I see your point, but I look at it this way. As a daily driver, what percent of time are you in 2wd as compared to 4wd? Im in RWD mode mostly unless Im wheeling or its real hairy out. Thus for all the driving I do, I would rather have the rear locked all the time. Its a matter of preference, but for me, Id rather have the axle locked that sees the most use.

Ive out-wheeled my buddies TJ with an open rear/locked front with my truck in 2wd, I attribute that to my locker.

Or just lock both :D

Mike buddy, you must be pumped....thread needs more pics!

I guess it depends on the type of wheeling that gets done, and I see your point Nathan. Although I think l/a rear locked front is excellent for most situations and still has excellent road manners. Re-arrange the clutches and steels and use an F-150 spring and your golden. Just adding my input. Ideal is locked/locked though. :D

Agree, mike more pictures!

Well things have been delayed even further. Kind of but not really. The guy that was going to buy my 98 just backed out so unfortunately funds are going to be diverted away from the 93 for a bit until I get the other one absolutely ready for sale.

dont worry Mike, everything happens for a better reason, give it a while and maybe u could even sell it for more monies!

Got the plate on the 93 and insurance done. And now the starter has completely calved on the 98. Won't start it at all, just spins. I had to bump start it tonight. Even when I roll and dump the clutch to move the flywheel so I'm hoping my ring gear is OK and it's definitely the starter. I ordered a new one and if I can get the damn thing to start I'll put it in tomorrow.

good on ya finally getting those tags.

as for the 98,it's probably just a bad bendix drive.ring gears don't usually just go suddenly.

That's what I figured. And if a spot was missing teeth I don't think I would all off a sudden run into it now consistently. I'll try to clean it out with some brake clean through the inspection hole. Biggest issue is getting it down to the shop. I like how this crap starts happening right before I am going to sell it.
