Mike's '93 4x4

good on ya finally getting those tags.

as for the 98,it's probably just a bad bendix drive.ring gears don't usually just go suddenly.

^^^ agree on the bendix - aka; over running clutch drive. An easy fix for ~C$15.00 and 1/2 hour of your time.

From work it's a non-serviceable starter, I'm sure I could locate the parts but I can get a starter for so cheap it's almost more effective to just change it.

At this point I'm just going to fix up a few nagging issues and get it gone.

So Josh has nothing but problems on the starter on the 98, that truck is giving one hell of a fight to leave.

On a better note I'm getting a full brake bleed and block heater done on the 93 tomorrow and will be DDing it next week:D

*edit* For those interested the Motorcraft part number for a block heater with cord is CEH-27 (B or D, I forgot, will update tommorow)

Part number is CEH-27B. Block heater is done, brakes are done and the plate is on. I left the 98 at the shop and drove the 93 home. Just needs some tunes now.

So once I put the plate on went an tried to remove the ball on the bumper as it blocked a couple letters. A 2 foot monkey wrench, 4 foot cheater bar and BFH later this is what I got.

But I'd say the truck looks good now.

I need to wire in my backup light, still not sure how I'm going to do it. Most likely a simple lighted toggle beneath the switch for my KC's

And here is the truck as it sits currently. I'd say it's about 90% done phase 1.

you needa raise that bumper

I would but I'm taking it off and going to build myself one out of an old hitch with a swing out tire carrier.

why not just tie it into the b/u light circuit on the truck,so it just comes on with the other ones?
you could even put a defeat switch in so it would only come on when you wanted it.or better yet,a three position switch so you could have on/off/auto positions.

Yeah I was surprised that let go before the threads. Dented my plate though:bawling:

I really like the idea of the 3-position switch. Seems like that would be some crazy wiring. I'm confused by it for the most part. Although I did get tasked with wiring up a couple $1000(not a typo) lights at work the other day and I got it. Even got the toggle switch to light up properly:D

I really need to install that vacuum modulator. This thing will hold gears forever, not up shift and kicks down way to easily. Any way to adjust the kick down cable so I actually have to stomp on it to make it up shift?

it's pretty easy.if you want some pointers, just let me know.

I'd like some pointers, me me! Sorry to thread jack Mike, but I'm terrible at wiring up lights. I don't know what it is...

P.S.- DO WANT that plate! :headbang:
