Big update pic overload!

Pics from today. I'm leaving the left front hanger on for now, I don't want to mess around with the gas tank until I get access to a hoist. I'll just clean it and paint it up for the meanwhile.

Had this off before, you can see the break.

Yeah man, it's called air-flex suspension. It's big with the Duramax guys:icon_rofl:

Got the leaf springs dropped off at the spring shop, the guy said they are going to work on them tomorrow:yahoo:

Replacing the middle leaves. One is broken clean across and the other is cracked.

Why didnt you replace them with some sploder springs from the JY? And did I see that you havent converted to disc brake sploder axle yet either? WTF. I wish I had the time to do all that, maybe Ill find a job that can be almost career like this time and I can wrench wheel instead of turning in apps.

1) Going with belltech 6400's right now, with the Exploder springs it would be way to slanted and it's not getting a front lift... yet.

2) I'm planning on regearing later on when I can afford it so it's not getting an 31 spline disc brake axle... yet.

It's all in the grand plan, this is just the get it safetied stage 1.

whats the cost on the spring repair?

Nice work by the way.

I'm anxious to know too. I replaced one of my springs for $52 counting the spring and new hardware, because one of the middle leafs was cracked clean off. I can't see a shop beating that price.

He's charging me $150 for both sides, and he is cutting off the old bolts that are seized in the bushings. Not cheaper that used but a lot cheaper that new and way faster. I've dealt with the shop for the leaves on my other Ranger and they are really good to work with.

$25 a side definitely isn't too bad. Still cheaper than buying a press to get the bushings out.

Ordered tires today:yahoo:

Yeah, I'm stoked!

Man those are nice.
I have to get wider wheels for the winter,,,

FrankBoss

Thanks Frank! I went with 32x11.50R15. I will still have my set of studded Hankooks for the winter so my truck will look ridiculous for half the year but be in the traction zone all the time.
