This truck is relatively new to me, and it doesn't get a lot of use. (Not my daily driver, only gets insurance put on in the form of temporary permits for a day or two at a time...)

I've been slowly working on it, and one of the problems I have found is the radiator cap leaks. Obviously, that would be fixed by replacing the rad cap... But that is not my problem.
When Refilling the rad, I have noticed some metallic shavings in the water - They look like copper?

Im not sure if this is bad or not, and what may have caused this???
Any opinions? Thanks.

Oh I know all about those stupid products...
I guess considering the rad cap leaks, its not unreasonable that the previous owner tried some bullshit stop-leak... On the plus side, there is no signs of head/head gasket issues, so I dont think he was trying to patch something there.

Now this makes me all the more pissed someone stole the radiator I had ripped out of my last bronco2... Not only could I use that damn rad cap, but the rad itself might be required.

:icon_rofl:

People that steal piss me off. :annoyed: Sorry you were a victim man.
I bought a Radiator cap for like 4$ at CholoZone. :icon_thumby:

they also stole my trans cooler and 3 random batteries... But thats it. And there were tools and shit laying around.

But yeah, if given the chance, I would turn whoever did it into a hood ornament... I am so ridiculously poor its not even funny... Student with a 7month old daughter, living on loans, Im surprised I have come up with $200 for my lift brackets and coils (and if my girlfriend knew I did, she'd be just thrilled...)

Some people just have no morals. :annoyed:
I wouldent Hit them with my truck... I would get out and shoot them with my 30-06. :icon_rofl:
Sometimes best to keep things on the Down low.

My truck is quieter than your gun. And a gun going off is a very uncommon sound here.

Im In Canada. Up here, a gun is a tool for killing deer, moose, and bear. Not people. Only hunters own guns, and they only use them for hunting. (Or shooting asshole neighbour dogs...)

True, but I was more talking about you girlfriend not knowing. :icon_thumby:

& Thats what it is used for around here too, But if someone comes on your property you have the legal right to shoot them, If they take a piece of your property off your land and leave youre land, you also have the Legal right to pursue them for 30 miles and shoot them, but I think they Changed that law last year or they are this year. Haha.

guessing that laws been sitting on the books since ohhh when people rode horses and the law of the land was a Colt revolver and a good strong rope.

Yeah the laws are much more perpetrator-friendly up here in Canada... For no reason can you shoot someone, and if someone steals your shit, your supposed to call the cops and let them deal with it...

But I dont really mind either. I believe quite strongly in gun control, because there are way too many people who shouldn't be allowed guns... meanwhile, in the American system, most of those people can get a gun in only a few minutes.

Either way, it wasn't even my house the radiator was at... It was a friends house. Shit happens. Now I need to figure out if there is a problem with the rad or not... I guess Im adding a rad flush to the to-do list whatever weekend I do my axle swap.

It was actually, and ALOT of people have used their right to exercise this law when stuff happens.

I dont like that. If someone comes into my house with the Intent to hurt any of my family, they arnt leaving in one piece. Sorry to say. Thats how I was raised, and How My Dad and Grandpa and so on and so forth were raised, and the law permits that.

We own 14 guns. Hahah.

I just took my Rad out and sprayed the hose in it till it came out nice and clear.

By all means, if someone tried to rob my house, I have plenty of things around (Katanas, pellet guns, frying pan...) that'll **** up most people that would be breaking in... But on the gun thing, there is a trade-off. You own 14 guns... I may own 0, but chances are, so does that guy breaking in. The only people who own illegal guns are gang members, and I have no interaction with those types, and they arn't the type the breaks into houses or steals random shit from front yards, ect.

If given the option, I surely would not give up what we have for gun control. Hell, I've written an English paper on the 2nd amendment, and how it has no validity today...

Gang members here break into house ALL the time. They Kill, Rape and even sometimes kidnap people. The city I live in is nicknamed " The Meth Capitol of the World" We have alot of problems with Home Invasions. So I like Having my guns.

OK, you live in Vancouver, AKA hippy-ville so I guess that explains your ignorance on the subject.

I'm a Canadian gun owner. I'm very involved the in the firearms community, now are you ready for a shocker?

Not only hunters own guns in canada. As a matter of fact there are a hell of alot of guys who own nothing but handguns and tactical rifles/shotguns. There are also alot of home invasions committed in Canada with firearms, typically they are illegally imported from the United States.

All that your precious gun control does is make it harder for the law-abiding shooters to get their guns, guns that are used for targets or hunting, or just collecting. It doesn't do a damn thing to stop criminals from importing and using guns in the commission of violent crimes. Criminals/gang members don't buy they're guns from your local sporting goods store. They don't get their gun license. They don't register their firearms. Gun control does little to nothing to prevent violent crime, at an enormous financial cost. That money could be used to help the victims of violent crime, or some other worthy cause much more effectively than making johnny the farmer register his old single shot .22.

Guns are the great equalizer. They enable the feeble to defend themselves against the strongest attacker. You mention that in the event of a home invasion you would defend yourself with a weapon through physical struggle. What if your attacker is much larger, stronger, or more skilled than you? What if you're not home when they break in, and it's your wife who's left to defend herself. Guns should absolutely be allowed to be used for self defence in Canada (a couple of recent court rulings have actually ruled in favour of those who used firearms for self defence actually).

Gun control has ofter been defined as "The belief that a woman raped and strangled with her own pantyhose is somehow morally superior to the woman who has to explain to police how her attacker got that fatal gunshot wound"

Guns are far more common in Canada than you may think, go to www.canadiangunnutz.com and see what the firearms community actually is.
