Put me up for it, I can test the ruggedness for the Alaskan weather and stuff. I wouldn't do so much Heavy off roading as I would mild trails and dirt roads and towing and that kind of stuff. Not the play toy but the work truck.

I have a 4.0 2000 xlt off road flare side. stock with a few bolt on s. have wheels and getting some 33's and doing a 2" tbar with a leveling kit this weekend and next weekend after training. I live in the North Country and have been wanting to try the manual lockouts since I have heard so much about them and all of the negative of the AVHs. I am replacing the hubs in the next month, so this would be a perfect time to make the switch. I have access to an off road course that we use for our military vehicles that I can put these bad boys to the test. I am in Fort Drum, NY. Let me know what you guys think, I am very interested! Thank you for your time.

Perfect Timing

Well I was on the fence on whether or not to install a HP D44 in front and Ford 9" in the rear since I had them laying around waiting on me to find a 4x4 that was worthy. I found the 4x4, a 99 Ranger, from hence forth known as The Anger. I took The Anger to the Badlands in Attica, IN last weekend and a fellow jeep guy almost had me talked in to TREC racing it. I was thinking hard about it till the RF hub let go on Saturday around 11:00am. Didn't get it fixed till Sunday around 10:15am and boy howdy, we fixed it good. I was figuring on not reusing the stock stuff with the 44 replacing it. Changed my mind today in lue of not being able to find a cheap TREC vehicle so i'm gonna use The Anger. I'm gonna get a JY knuckle assy to replace the stuff we melted together. I was also gonna ante up and get some fox remote reservoir shocks to tame the whoop sections and the AVM lockers but then I ran across this.

This would be a perfect test for these. I was planning on some light wheeling in the coming weekends with the 2hr+1lap endurance race being on May 15. Also got three more races after that and i'm out to win. They are also talking about possibly a 4 or 6 hour endurance race. Should be fun. If you want your stuff tested my right foot and the word endurance should be all you need. Take a look at the fix we performed just so we could keep having fun.

Theres more vehicle picures and one video in my bumper build posts. Search 4x4 bumper build.

Like I said i'm out to win and if i have to do this again during the race to win, I will. TTYL Bryan Smith

jim, i don't even know if you're checking these posts but i'll stake my case anyways lol

i'm a young and dumb guy and beats on his truck. in my town alone, i've got five legitimate mud holes that i frequent, one place with hill climbing and moderate rock trails, and countless trails to ride around on.

i'm a frequent mudder at horse hole creek, there are pictures in my old truck's album that shows what that place is like. they've got a large mud hole plus a smaller hole in the back with rock trails. i've got triple canopy ranch, redneck yacht club and rancho (all very popular holes with a strong business) within driving distance.

with the summer right around the corner, you could bet that i'll be off road nearly everyday. i would be happy to document the installation of the hubs and then the use of them. i could test nearly any kind of terrain someone might face with them. mud, dirt, sand, rock, anything in between.

so, just for your consideration :icon_thumby:

I assume I am too late just picked up a 98 and new hubs are on the short list

I guess I really should update this topic:

A list of volunteers were sent to the company along with some vehicle specs. They picked bseamop because his truck was used off-road but basically stock.

They sent him some hubs to test. There was a problem with them and he sent them back.
