Hello all, I have a 1995 Mazda B2300 base model (no radio, no power steering).

Yesterday my wipers quit working. I checked the fuses and relays they're good. I tried grounding the case of the motor since I believe these are negatively switched, no good. I have power going to the wiper motor, so I plugged in a napa reman motor and it still does not work. I am just about at wits end here. I am a mechanic by trade but electrical issues always stump me. Any ideas?

The multi-function switch on the steering column is all that's left.

Did you try grounding the new motor when you had it plugged into the wiring? There is an internal switch in the motor that is used to park the blades when power is removed. IOW, the instant power/ground is supplied, the motor is 'off rest' and will keep its power until it cycles around to what we think of as 'parked' position. If the power/ground is still there when it reaches 'park', it keeps going and the wipers continue to cycle. That's why you can flip the wiper switch to get the wipers moving, release it, and they'll run one cycle and park.
As I remember, the motor is isolated from the cab by rubber washers, so it needs a separate ground from the mounting bolts. If that wire is not connected to ground, it won't work.
