I had the hydraulic line that goes into the slave cylinder with the quick disconnect line break. Im not a hundred percent sure what transmission I have, I have a 97 4.0L OHV 4x4.
I guess my question is , how do I change both parts? I have the quick disconnect tool but I have no idea how to change it and I don't want to spend a lot of time trying to figure it out when its below zero outside and its broken down at work.
Is there a thread in the tech library? I looked but didn't see one.
Anything would help thanks guys

It wasn't intuitive to me when I first ran into one of these quick disconnects. What you need to do is look for a white plastic part that encircles the connecter. You need to use the tool or sometimes two screwdrivers will work, and push that white plastic towards the transmission. IIRC, it should move about 1/8" or slightly more and if you pull on the line the opposite way, it should come apart. Sometimes you have to push, then pull a bunch of times.
At the master end, I think you would disconnect from the pedal first, then remove the master bolts/nuts. Then twist and curse while carefully unthreading the line from everything that is in the way.
Make sure to bench bleed before installing the new one.
It's late so I may have forgot a few steps, but I'm sure someone will step up and fill in any gaps.
Good luck,

Richard

ok i figured it out. For anyone else who needs to replace theres, it's easier to gain access by taking off the front drivers tire and removing the inner wheel well and then it's right there. There's also a great youtube video for a complete bench bleeding process and installation
