Hey guys. First time posting, but I've been finding answers on this forum for years.
Long story short, awhile ago I turned the key in my 99 3.0 V6 with the battery hooked up backward. (Long story, like I said.... And a stupid move)
Since then, the truck will start, but it stalls out right after it turns over unless the MAF sensor is unplugged. If I plug it in after the truck is started, it stalls. Replacing it didn't help.
It also looks like the alternator isn't charging the battery. Replaced the alternator, no difference.
With the MAF unplugged it ran surprisingly well-- till the battery died.
I didn't think to check the fusible link before I replaced those things. I wanted to see if you guys thought it made sense that the fusible link could be the origin of both the charging and the MAF problem.... Or how likely it is that the whole thing is just toast now.
Thanks a lot for any input you've got!
