Hey guys, I need to get a remanufactured transmission for my 1988 Ford Ranger GT. I’m wondering if my truck has a 6,7, or 8 tooth speedometer gear. I hope someone can help me out with this.
thanks!

Manual trans and 4WD transfer case should be 7 tooth drive gear
4WD transmissions didn't have speedo drive gear, short tail shaft, manual or auto
The transfer case had the speedometer gear, all 7 tooth, and swap-able/removable
Does anyone have a part number and an equation for figuring out what tooth number is needed. I have a 1990 ranger 4x4 manual with 285/65R16 tires
Last time I needed one, I think I ordered it from Jeff’s Bronco Graveyard. It is a 3.73 ratio. Sorry I forgot to put that in. Thanks for the info. Still trying to find where I can find a new gear. Anytime I search Google it brings up gears for the t5 transmission
