Hey everyone,
I’m not sure if this is the correct place to post this thread, but my m50d r1 tranny has gone out and I’m wondering if it’s better to try and do a rebuild (which I’ve never done before) or to just buy a remanufactured one. Does anyone know which shops are reputable that do the remanufactured ones?

Whats wrong with it?

I would be tempted to rebuild. But it depends in your tools, skill level and ambition. I think there may be a few special tools needed.

You sure it isn't the clutch?

Have you checked the lube?

Is it nice and bright... these use automatic transmission fluid.

How old is the clutch? I've seen some vehicles become more difficult to shift as the clutch wears.

Sorry for the late reply, I’ve been traveling for the last few months. I replaced the clutch and flywheel and all last winter.
