Has anyone replaced the pinion seal in the front of their Ranger? Any weirdness to it or pretty comparable to a older axle where you just mark the pinion nut and put back where it was?

I have not. Other than changing gear oil, I haven't had to do anything to the front axle.

I wouldn't worry about it. They eventually quit leaking.

On the fence how into this I am for a DIY project as opposed to just paying for it...

Prime opportuniy to prove the Ford CEO wrong about his assessment of customer intelligence and capability. However, this would be much easier and more enjoyable if you had a lift.

It has that freaking goofy bell shaped flange thing that I don't know if a normal flange tool would even fit. I don't have a dial torque wrench either.

Forget that pinion seal.

What you really need for the family is this 1984 Ford Carryall Truckster listed on Facebook Marketplace.

I know how much you like green. Imagine how cool this would be painted green with some woodgrain panels down the side, the kids and pets loaded up in the back, and your camping gear strapped to the roof.

You think you hate it now, but just wait until you paint it.

Oh wow! Mexican truck? I really like that!

But its a 3 door...

Exactly. It's a safety feature so your kids don't exit out on the drivers side into traffic. Think of it as a small RV. They exit on the passenger side as well.
