This just started happening approximately 2 weeks ago. Ocassionally when I engaged my 4x4 I would get this ticking sound from underneath the truck. It would increase and decrease in speed depending on how fast I accelerated.
That kind of came and went, but just 2 days ago anytime I engage the 4x4 the ticking is constant and it won't go away. Its even really faint when I am driving in 2wheel drive. But as soon as I put her in 4x4 its a really loud ticking noise.
I also noticed that when I get on the highway driving in 2wd that I get an intermitent kind of dragging feeling.. almost like the feeling you would get driving on those washboard shoulders.. not as extreme obviously but thats sorta how it sounds/feels. And when I put the truck in 4h it kind of smooths out.
This all just sorta happened at once and Im pretty concerened about driving the truck. I'm not really sure where to start looking and if someone could point me in the right direction I would really appreciate it.
Perhaps I can get an audio clip of the sound it makes when I drive with the 4x4 engaged.
Thanks in advance,
Chris.
