I have a 94 Ranger. I was driving down the road and suddenly had no power and the engine eventually died. It would turn over fine but die right after it started. When it finally stayed running it would run rough. I was able to limp it home. When I had time to work on it I couldn't keep it started and did get a code for the MAF sensor. I unplugged it and it started right up and ran. Put in a new MAF sensor and it still acted the same as before. Any other ideas as what it could be?

Did you reset the computer after installing the new MAF sensor?
i.e. unhook battery for 5 minutes

You can try checking the voltages on the MAF wires, look here:

Unplugging the MAF switches computer to Open Loop so instead of sensors controlling the engine, computer runs preset fuel/air and timing from memory.

With new MAF in, does it start up and have power when driving but has a rough idle?
Or does it still have no power?

Losing power could be a $10 fuel filter.
