losing the egr stuff

I don't know. I've been asking for pics so I can help people bypass it, but apparently no one really cares. So why is this thread here?

Emissions testing is a form of revenue. Nothing more and nothing less.

When my computer operated vehicle has problems, i grab the key to the 58 4x4. always starts.

Ill say it again, Emissions are purely revenue, nothing more nor nothing less.POLITICS

Begin rant.

I think removing EGR from a vehicle is an exceptionally bad idea. Here's why.

1. When I fixed the EGR on my Bronco 2, the mileage went up. We're talking at least a few miles per gallon here. So there's one reason to keep it.

2. On most vehicles the EGR is also there to control pinging. Introducing exhaust gases into the intake will slow the burn and reduce the tendency to ping. Sometimes the ECU will compensate for your EGR removal by detecting the pinging and running rich. That is only if you have a knock sensor. If you don't, well, I guess your motor is just going to ping, now isn't it.

So unless you want a motor that gets bad mileage and pings itself to death, leave the EGR hooked up.

End rant.
