I have a 91 ranger custom. I would love to replace the factory radio.

How much power can the factory speaker handle both RMS and peak power?

What is the sensitivity of the factory speakers?

Any suggestions if I do replace the speakers, so far as the 5" rear speakers are concerned, preferably without having to modifying the housing?

Factory speakers are garbage. There 25 watts max. There the first things to replace. And you should have 5x7/6x8s behind the seat if I'm not mistaken

he might have the little plastic boxes for 5" speakers that mount behind the seats if he has a standard cab? i put 6"s in my doors and in those boxes, but i had to cut both to make them fit. keep in mind when buying your new speakers and head unit to match the rms ratings unless you plan to amplify the speakers. most lower end cd players are between 35w x 4 to 50w x 4, but beware that these are the max ratings, so match your speakers accordingly. you dont want to run a 40 x4 cd player with a 350w max speaker because you wont be using its full potential and may even damage the speaker.

you wont damage the speaker, most headunits are between 12-22 watts rms per channel, so a 35-50 rms speaker is what you want.
