Looking to upgrade to a bigger tire for my rims if possible. 1993 Ranger XLT SC

Mastercraft isnt a bad brand either. We put coopers on the escape last spring and Ive been happy with them. Not happy with wal-mart (where I bought them) though. Brand new rims, put my own valve stems in. They tried to charge me for new valve stems & tire disposal fees. New rims- no old tires to dispose of.

I just purchased Americus Rugged AT tires from Walmart. 31 10.5 15 . I got a great price for 4. They look real nice too.

Currently running my favorite tire ever on the six 98+ Rangers I've owned. It's a 30x9.5x15 Firestone Destination XT. Put them on my 2010 2.3 slug a year ago with specials/rebates for $140 each. Kind of high now at 180+. Back in August I found Goodyear Trailrunner AT 235/75/15 at $105 (still that price @ discount tire) for my 2000 3.0 Auto and like them so far. My son just found the same Trailrunner on Wed. 11/8/23 at Wally's on black Friday special for $75 ! Ordered him a set for his 2010 4WD 5sp. Right now is looking like a great time to shop tires, best luck !

Thanks, however im looking for a larger tire to fit my 93 Ranger XLT SC, a few members here had stated that i can use 31/10.5/15 tires, so i went with them.

You can also do tires on the cheap. My son asked me to find him a nice set of all weather tires. I went to the Upull yard, walked right past the tire rack, and found a very good set on an old car that were just about brand new. I took them off, wheels and all and paid about $187.00.

We changed them out when I got home. They didn't need to be rebalanced. They didn't even need air. He took the old set home and bought snow tires. He's got two sets now and is happy as a clam.

I'm not sure, but the tires in the racks may cost less, but not much more than the ones still mounted on the rims. Whatever the case may be, the real upside is that one can avoid a trip to the tire store. There's plenty of Rangers in the junkyard, plenty of other cars and trucks too. It might be worth a look around.

I got these tires. They have some good reviews. I don't use my truck that much so I'm not really worried. These are Rollback price @ Walmart with free delivery, I have a shop that will mount and balance for $15 a tire, not too shabby. They came to $596 Total with tax and free shipping for 4. They look nice and healthy too.

Walmart will install, balance for less and include the warranty since you bought them from The Walmart.

Also, if you have not taken dilevery yet, the have a nice special on the same size Goodyear Wrangler A/T @$131 each; I was considering them.

Thanks for the info,, 🙂 I saw those Good Year Wranglers on the Walmart site and was going to order those originally..... But I liked those Americus ATR tires better. They looked more beefier and looked like they'd fill the wheel well up a little better, and I love the design, especially the sidewalls. My current tires look so lost in the Ranger wheel well, I believe they are 235/75/15.

These Americus Rugged ATRs are real sweet looking.

When I get them mounted, I'll do a before and after shot.

Further, there is a substantial difference in the tire sizes. Going from 235-75-15 to 31-10.5-15. Hopefully no issues mounting them on the original Ford Deer Hoof Rims.

You should be just fine as to the fit.
What's the oem tire (door sticker)? I wouldn't be surprised if it were 31" (265's), mine was.

265’s were a option and as far as I knowcame on the same 7.5 wheel that 235’s were put on. 265’s are the metric sized equivalent of 31/10.50’s, no worries there. Id assume you have the 4.0 ohv with 3.73’s- my 93 s/c was setup that way and did fine with both 235’s & the later 255’s. Now the 2.3 with those sizes is another thing, fine with 4.10’s until you hitch up a trailer or really load the bed.
