Read through the tech article hear on piecing together a 2.3L turbo and became interested in it. I haven't lived the boosted life since I was 18, which was 12 years ago, and even then a buddy did most of the picking and choosing of parts.

I have found a block from an '88 Thunderbird and plan on sending it off for prep work in the next couple months. From there, the options have me lost... The head mentioned in that article can't be found and some other things are outdated. I do know that I want around 300-350hp and would prefer a Garret turbo.

If any one can link me additional articles that are helpful, it would be greatly appreciated.

Google: Ranger turbo forum

That site will usually have the most current info on the Lima engine turbo builds.
Also Mustang sites, turbo'ed 2.3l Lima was a popular upgrade for Mustangs.

You probably already know so just a reminder, the Lima 4cyl SOHC engines were made and used from 1974 to 2001 in various Ford cars and the Rangers.
So '88 t-bird would be a Lima engine.
In 2001 Ford started using the 2.3l DOHC Mazda L(Duratec) engine, it is unrelated to the 2.3l SOHC Lima engines.
But it will come up when searching for Ford or Ranger 2.3l parts, so just a heads up.
