- My credo
- I don't subscribe to causes that are compelled by irrational fears.
I am in the process of replacing the steering column assembly in my truck. In the process of extracting the old column and transferring parts, I have run into two problems: first, there was an aftermarket alarm that is no longer functioning, wired into the car in an obviously-incorrect way (at a minimum, the clockspring wiring harness had been spliced to interface with the alarm; I assume there will be additional blunders here but I don't know). Secondly, the turn signal wiring harness fell apart on me; six of the seven wires fell out of the harness and I don't know where these wires are supposed to be.
I am attempting to track down wiring diagrams for everything under the dash so that I can figure out how to pull the alarm without possibly disabling the vehicle, and so that I can fix the turn signal harness by correctly replacing the pins in the correct holes. Ideally, I'd like to get full access to a FSM to help me with work on the truck in the future (I also have problems with the power mirrors, fog lamps and horn, and the aftermarket stereo and subwoofer were wired in without consideration for routing or appearance). I have managed to find these before for cars I have owned previously, but for this truck there's a higher signal-to-noise ratio; I ended up downloading something purporting to be the FSM for my model year, but contained a teardown for the OHV engine, which my model year does not have.
I'm wondering if anyone can point me to a source that has a full wiring diagram; at a bare minimum, I need to find the configuration of the leads for the turn signal wiring harness.
