Looking for an auto temp switch for an electric fan

I did not think about that, Thanks. Maybe I should just mount it underneath all together so its out of the way. Then again it would be different for different trucks but either way is that is good advice.

Good idea that's smart so can you have a hose going directly to the Efan switch/resistor or does it have to be in a flow path?

I know this is an old thread, but I'm curious about whether the stock alternator on a 99 Ranger has enough power to add an electric fan.

If it can power an aftermarket stereo with an amp, I think it can handle a fan with no other electronic upgrades.

'99 Ranger would have a stock 95amp alternator
Ford Taurus cooling fan draws 30amps average, it does spike above 60amps when starting but that is what the battery is for, temporary spikes.
I believe the Ford Taurus alternators were 110amp in the late 90's
Taurus e-fan is just an example and a popular DIY conversion to use on Rangers

So yes it does have enough to run it.

Good up grade would be to get a 1996-1998 Explorer 4.0 (130 Amp Standard) alternator.
