I am looking for wire strippers that can strip wire up to 2 gauge. All I have found is the "generic" 24-10 gauge stripper/crimper pliers.

The only thing I can come up with is a copper pipe cutter, there has got to be a better way to strip cleanly and not nick the wire?

Pocket knife.....

Hold the blade at about a 5 degree angle on the wire, where you want to strip it, pull the blade towards you, cutting out a small chunk of the coating. If you look at the end of the wire, the outer coating should make a "C" shape. Grab that, pull it off the wire, and cut it off. It's pretty easy to NOT cut into the wire doing it this way...

My dad's an electrician and he's been stripping big wire like that for 35 plus years.
