Looking at Ford Escapes

The aunt borrowed her sister's escape for a tournament in upstate ny. They fit everyone and everything just fine (her old 04 xploder was ready to die). It was a little cramped but worked. My experience in an escape was my buddy's, his was an 05-08 i think. V6, intelligent 4x4. It was an ok DD, rode nice, good power, handled well. But i would've rather drove my ranger haha.

You should be fine if you follow the ford techs advice and don't buy a chevy.

Not bad vehicles really. I've done front wheel bearings, ball joints and tie rod ends a few weeks back and it's an 05. We have the leak at the t-case as well...just seeps for now. The 3.0 does suck to work on, it's tight. The CD4E can cause issues sometimes, I used to rebuild a lot of them in the 3.0s at one point. Over all not bad...have an 05 Explorer too, I'd pick the escape unless you need to two a mild trailer or more people/stuff. The explorer is the most expensive/neediest vehicle I've owned to date.
