I know I know...and the spare is under the drivers seat. dont ask why.

Anyways this is actually my dads truck but nonetheless its a 2003 XL with manual locks and windows, so before I pay the money to have it unlocked is there any way I can jam a coat hangar in there and unlock it...or any method you guys would suggest?

Thanks, Kyler

sometimes your local law enforcement will have tools to "unlock" it with. ive heard scanner calls before for people being locked out. worth a call. or if has a slider rear window and it happens to not be latched, you might be able to push it open and fit through (or sens a child through who will then open the door)

Usually police will only help if it's a slow day, in my experience.. In a big town like Panama City, they probably won't be interested in helping you.

Be careful trying to do it yourself, you might do more harm accidentally by not knowing what you're doing. Might be worth the $60 to have someone else do it. But that's just me, I wouldn't want to screw up someone else's car. Not a big deal if it's my own, but I don't mess with other people's stuff.

Take VIN to local Ford dealer. Ask if they will cut a door key. Sometimes they want proof of ownership, but if you can provide that (title will do if you can't get at the reg card) you can get a key cut off the VIN on any 2002 or up vehicle. Not free, but a heck of a lot cheaper than calling a lock smith.

or you could follow the directions in the pm i sent you.

jesus h tapdancing guys, you ALL know there's an easier way than getting a new ****ing key cut or calling a locksmith.

Assuming it hasn't been "fixed".

A coat hanger will work. i have locked myself out of my truck and had it open in under a minute using a coat hanger. pm me if you want details on how to do it quickly and effectively.

Slim Jim...

Its nice having LEO friends...

That's why I have AAA. They've saved my ass 4 times already, I seem to have a knack for locking my keys in my truck haha.

Or... ebay... sl!m jim... sucks knowing how easy a criminal could get something like that so cheap... but yeah lol

the ranger comes with a radio antenna, you don't even need a slimjim.

Err, that's not a complete fix, it'll only delay someone who knows what they are doing by a few seconds, it only fixes the easy way in that's quicker than keys

i just dont lock the damn truck, then again i dont need keys either, makes it nice when you just want to jump in and go, no looking for the "right" key, twist and go. i even pulled the power lock relay so the switch would accidently get bumped when getting out. nothing worth taking in the cab of the truck, hell, a cassette deck is almost as anit-theft as a 8-track these days.

Anybody else think that having this thread around is a bad idea?
