So i bought some roof top brackets for a light bar and it came with rivnuts. Instead of buying a rivnut gun, couldnt i just weld them to my truck? I dont really care to buy a one time use tool.

Not sure it would be a one time use... I've used mine a bunch. I used it a couple weeks ago to repair some kitchen equipment in my pizza shop.
I would be hard pressed to weld them and would buy the tool. Harbor Freight has a tool for 21 dollars that would do the job.

rivet nuts are my favorite thing ever. if you dont plan to use the tool again one can be had from harbor freight for about what youll use in argon and filler rod or wire. its about a 3 time use tool... haha
