Lifting my 99 2wd

Hey guys I have a 1999 ford ranger that I am trying to lift or under 500 dolars I would like to keep it suspension and I would like to use lift spindles in the front but with lift spindles can I use stock sized shocks? if anyone has a better idea or how they lifted their ranger let me know thanks

I don't have a 99 nor have I lifted one but, from what I have read a lift spindle only moves the position of ur tire down as a result lifting ur vehicle. U can use the same coils.

Torsion bars came after 2001, right? Tommy, do you have coil springs in the front? If so, a spindle lift is cheap and easy, but get a quality set and not from eBay. Cheaper spindles have broken and left users stranded with a wheel rolling down the street and through intersections.

The other way, if you have the torsion bar setup, is to crank on your torsion bars, using keys, to make your ride taller. It will also be stiffer, but it's the cheapest route you can take. Stock shocks may be used.

Fabtech tells you what size of tire to run. Go to their website. I have them with 2 inch over coil springs. My 99 Ranger 2wd handles great and rides very smooth. I am running 33x12.5x15 BFG KO tires. Springtech on Ebay sells the coils and spindles and the company is very good. I know a few people who bought from Springtech and have been very happy. As long as you are not doing huge jumps the Fabtech and Springtech spindels will hold up and last a long time. I put the Fabtech setup on back in 2000. I bought the truck new in 99. They are still in great shape and still look great. I had to add longer shocks due to adding the 2 inch taller coils. With just the spindle lift you won't need to add longer shocks.

T bars started in '98 for 4x4s, there were a few packages that offered it on 2wd's like Edge and Trailhead.

By far most 2wd's are going to be coil spring.

No matter what you have you will need an alignment when you get done.

Depends on what your going to be doing with your truck street, body lift, off road your going to have to spend way more than you want, fabtech spindles are ok but you will have a limited turn radius unless you grind the crap out of the lower a arms, keep in mind you have rack and pinion steering, a spring lift is hard on these componets, do to angle of the tie rods, i have 3" body lift and can clear 33's no problem and it still handles great, it really does come down to its intended use, there are some lift spindles out there that use the larger f150 spindle shaft, I forgot who it was but I checked them out and they are made in the usa do your shopping home work
