so im gonna start this thread to help those of us whom wanna lift their truck atleast 3 inches, and not blow the bank. it will involve some wrench time, but NO WELDING OR CUTTING OF THE FRAME.

Note, not my truck. but who evers, its pretty dope.

anyways, what i am starting with are two 4x4 lift blocks. Fords cheap way of jacking a otherwise normal truck.

I picked up these blocks from my local junk yard for $20. i swiped a U bolt so i knew what size id be dealing with, and went and ordered a set from ford. they are about 60 for new U bolts per side where i went.

Now thats a simple bolt in 2 inches in the rear. But to level things out we need to smooth things out.

Now you have 2 options. NOTE: im dealing with coil spring, i know some 2wd are T Bar.

for coil, you can make or buy coil spacers:

now this method will give you the height you want, but can mess with your suspension. If you say NAW to that, Your on my page.

I am going to be purchasing a set of lift spindles that will bring me up 3 inches in the front. Now since i sit and inch higher in the back as it is, Ill be level. and since i dont haul much of anything, it will work perfectly.

if after all this youd like to raise the back more, you can buy and ad a leaf kit for another inch or so in the back.

The blocks will cost you at most 150, the spacers can be free, and the spindles are about 500. the add-a-leaf is around 150 as well.

together with a body lift, you can get 5 inches of lift for under $1000

considering a normal 5 inch lift is alomst 2000, im ahead of the game! i will post pics of before and after as well. :icon_cheers:

Where did you get the spindles. I Google Ranger spindles and only find lowering spindles?

Fabtech, Suspension Max, or Doetsch Tech. Although for your 95, you will not be able to find lift spindles, they do not make them for the third gens.

The blocks are the way to go, and there are multiple ways to lift as 06RangerXLT is showing..
I just wanted to add---I got these shackles from Pepboys relatively cheap...There not Ranger specific but they fit! and as you can see, there adjustable, so you can lift it 1" rather than 2" to help level out your truck

But like mentioned...grab the 4x4 blocks and Ubolts first...cheapest.

Can you post more info on that shackle? (brand, part number)

jim, pepboys sells a similar shackle like kingoveraces...its 39 bucks and i think they hold up good

on a side note- jim did you get my PM?

just read he got his from pepboys, ill get a part number later

My 2002 Edge 2wd. Front: Fabtech lift spindels and T-bar cranked up. Rear: 4 inch blocks, Fabtech add a leaf, shackles. 3 inch body lift and 35's.

2002 ranger xlt lift

little blue ranger,

i have a ranger similar to yours and i want to lift it the same way. i was wondering how much the project costed before i got started.

thanks,

3" spindles, 2" blocks, 2" shackle, 33x10.5R15 tires, 15x8 Rims 4" back space.

3" body lift, or 3" coils, explorer leaf are this summer. Most likely going to go for the body lift though.

Jim a BellTech 6400 Chevy lowering shackle will lift the rear of a Ranger anywhere from 2-3". I am sure there are some off brand shackles that will work as well.

If I were to get some 2 in. blocks in the back and bump it up in the front 3 in., do you think I'd have to get new shocks?
Thanks
