Let me see your fog lights.

i'll get a pic of my switches, i have 3 rockers down by the obd2 port.

the hellas are hooked to the highbeams and a remote control system.

the rear lights to a rocker switch and the reverse lights.

nice trucks guys!!!

if you dont want to change the appearence then get yourself some cheap low profile lights from wally world and mount them behind the grill. if you didnt already know about my lights...you would never notice them with the truck parked.

Ok, I'll be the killjoy on the thread- I hope you are planning on using these lights when its FOGGY? Most people use them 24/7. They don't help you see a damn bit better, yet they blind everyone else. Please use responsibly.

Not true, fog lights light up a greater amount of the side of the road BUT you still should not run them 24/7

i run my lights 24/7...but i downgraded to a 25w bulb in each housing and they are pointed at the ground in front of the truck. im not attempting to increase my night view with them...thats why i have headlights. the purpose of my daytime running lights are to help me be seen. countries that have implimented mandatory DRL laws (such as canada) have seen somewhere in the range of a 30% decrease in 2-vehicle collisions during the daytime. as soon as i heard that stat., i though to myself: "hmmm, i gotta get in on that".

Proper aiming is what's important with fog lights. Aimed correctly, a true fog light shouldn't cause additional glare for oncoming traffic (this isn't true for so-called auxiliary "driving" lights though [like the ones in the opening post], they normally lack the glare shield that fog lights have).

FWIW, here are my fogs (underneath) & driving lights, along with the switches.

Switches are: reverse lights, fog lights, driving lights. All are "On/Off/On-auto" (fogs with lo-beams, driving lights with hi-beams).

Fog lights are amber for a reason, you do not get the reflection from the fog or snow for that matter, That you get from normal head lights or Clear driving light.

Center beam should be set about 30 feet in front of your truck, you get good visablity with out blinding on come traffic. next time your in a snow storm turn off your head lights, and run parking and amber fog's

Difference between Fog lights and driving lights.

Read your laws Most places limit you to 4 forward facing driving lights max. Any more and you better have covers on them, and are intended for off road only.

Fog lights are yellow and they are intended for low visibility purposes.

What you have pictured and most have shown are Auxillary driving lights or off road spot lights.

Okay, so, I am going to install some fog lights onto my truck.

I just want some ideas were to put them, and were to mount the inside switch.

Some pictures would be a BIG help.

Thanks.

Here is what I am working with: (found them randomly in my garage)

you may not need them, but if you personally can see better with amber fog lights(i know i can) then whats it matter, if it works for you do it, if not then don't

"Fog Lights" are defined by their beam pattern (flat & wide with no light casting upward). Color is a secondary feature.

"Driving lights" are basically auxiliary hi-beams (and is why you shouldn't run these at all times). They are usually clear.
