I have taken to driving semi truck regionally on a seasonal basis. I drive agricultural belly dump doubles. The weather has been really rotten recently, today being an exceptionally bad day. While on the interstate, I looked up to see a semi from the other direction of travel sliding through the median in a jackknife coming towards me. I couldn’t drive to the outside of the interstate, because he was going that way, too. I went into the median. The other driver recovers and straightens out. I get stuck in the median. I was one of three passenger vehicles and two semis off the road, but I was upright with no impact. I called police and my supervisor. Police from two different agencies arrive, get my papers and start to write up the incident report. I am still in my seatbelt in my truck. About 20 minutes ofter the first incident, I look up to see another vehicle (a Nissan pickup) sliding off the road towards me. She hits me, totally destroying her truck and bounces toward the Sheriffs vehicle (which she doesn’t hit). No injuries. Talk about butt pucker!

You guys that drive the big rigs in this weather have all my respect. I long ago, even with the 4x4, learned to drive very careful on the interstate. Is that wet pavement or black ice? Had several people try to pass me cause they thought I was going too slow only to watch them disapear in a cloud of snow as they dd a 360 into the median.

Even pros can be scared. I was driving about 45mph before the initial heart stopper.
