"Is this your place? I'd love to have a small house with the ampacity to run a 10,000 square foot shop! Those electric panels are a little overkill?"

Moms house. That is the pump house in the background. I wired everything when they built. I wired for a 300amp service. Those are feed-thru panels as disconnects feeding two 150amp panels in the house - 1 in each end. There is also a transfer switch with connection for a generator. We also had a full-service RV site set up with 30amp electric water and phone.

And to carry on with nothing to do with the thread....How about old style gas generator to fuel your engine...generator that use wood for gasification..? It was pretty common between the WW1 and WW2. I want to put one in my truck and enter the 24HOL [24 Hour Of Lemons].

I know the ones of which you speak, but I thought they burned coal, not wood. Then again, hydrocarbons are hydrocarbons are hydrocarbons... :icon_hornsup:

Coal would definitely be a step up from wood. Wood, I think, would have more steps to turn into gas.

I don't know what to do....on the left I have a pile of coal, on the right, wood....
does that kind of bring it full circle?
Apologies to OP.

Later on during the war when someone kept bombing their refineries and blowing up their trains... wood was easier to get.
