I just replaced my fuel pressure regulator and had a tough time getting the o-ring to seat on the fuel rail. Wound up destroying the first o-ring. The second one seated fine- no leaks. I then drove 750 miles from NM to TX in the heat - no problem. Now 2 days later, it's leaking big time. Any ideas?

Get a new ring, replace it, and lube them good with clean fuel before putting the line back on.

OK, but I'm not disconnecting the line, just taking the regulator off the rail and replacing the o-ring that goes over the regulator nipple that seats inside the rail.

I used some grease on mine, tighten it down while switching sides often so it goes down even. Any grease that gets inside will just melt in the fuel and be gone.

No experience with Ranger fuel injectors. But yellow Ford 5.0 injectors are clones of the bosch injectors and gear oil is the recommended lube for the same O-Rings. I've gotten away with lubing with the dipstick. . NAPA carries the O-rings for short money.
