Leaky A4LD

The motor is going to get hotter for a short time after you shut it off because the coolant quits circulating. I doubt thats related to your trans issue.
Didn’t think so, just an observation since coolant was leaking also.

So I’m going to be very optimistic and assume the vent tube that was blocked by some kind of mud dauber mess caused a slight pressure build up causing fluid to spill out of the vent or anti-siphon lines that run up the outside of the bell housing.

I remember topping off yesterday while the truck was off and noticing drips and trans fluid leaking out on the ground so I assumed it was “full”. I know now you must fill while it is running or will leak from siphon tube.

So after inspection this morning there is a mess of trans fluid under the truck, but no obvious evidence of where the leak came from. I took the inspection plate off and inside, including the TC is dry.

I started the truck and filled tranny fluid up. Took for a drive and ran through the gears a little. When I checked the fluid it was dead nuts in the crosshatch area.

Unless someone here thinks otherwise, Im going with.. I got really lucky.. that’s my story and im stickin’ to it!

Need to look into that though, 2.9's and heat dont mix well

It’s dripping from the top driver side threaded outlet. I’ll try to remove and dope it up again, but may be in the market for a new radiator.

Ive found a new rubber hose I didn’t see yesterday. The metal line on passenger side is what I cleared yesterday while in the road, assumed it was a vent tube. The rubber hose is what I just found on driver side attached to a metal bracket up high near the floor board looks more like a vent to me. Looks like someone plugged it with a plastic push clip. Should this be here??
