I have a 1988 ranger and i need new rear leaf springs and the salvage yard by my town has a bunch of leaf springs for newer rangers would a 1998 leaf spring work on mine?

Local spring shop carries 4 varieties of Ranger springs:

'86-'03 light
'86-'03 heavy
'03-'11 light
'03-'11 heavy

Based on above, I would say yes, just get same number of leaves as current springs.

1st gen explorer leafs will also give you a small lift, but you'll have to replace/flip the locating pin with a pin of correct head diameter to get them to work.

Awesome thanks alot for the replies
