Sorry if I posted this in the wrong place. I want to remove a leaf out of my springs. I currently have a stock rear end but I don't have a bed on my truck. I have my hangers flipped 180* and it rode a lot better than stock on the road with the bed than stock hanger mounting did. But with the bed off I get a lot off bouncing from the rear end now like I'm driving down a really bumpy dirt road (not hitting the bumpstops on the frame).

My question is, which leaf do I want to remove? And depending on ride afterwards I may or may not flip the hangers back over.

Just to post an update, I did remove a leaf. I have a leaf pack with 4 leaves, I removed the second one from the top of the pack (longest one besides the main leaf that connects to the frame). It is a day and night difference in the ride quality. Very much improved.

I will more than likely flip my shackles back to stock because I lost about 1-2 inches of height and that interferes with my mudflaps I have welded to the frame.

The only downside I see thus far is that at highway speeds the rear end seems to sway and rock a little bit. I would assume this would not be so bad if you removed the next smaller leaf instead. I'm not going to worry about it though because I will be building a prerunner bedcage on the frame and running big reservoir shocks that I can set the compression stroke stiffer on to counter the sway.

Sorry for rambling.

the sway is from the rake caused by the lower rear than front, when you put the hangers back stock it should help, but depending what you use for the preunner bed you may end up also putting the leaf back in cause the stock bed and bumper weight nothing you will just have to get the bed pre- bed on and go from there, sounds like a fun project, keep us post with pics
