Leaf spring eye bolts

I've always just replaced them with 9/16" grade 8.

i couldnt easily find 9/16 bolts, went with 14 mm 8.8 hardness. sure, there are harder metric bolts, but 8.8 was what was available, and certianally better than alot of the rangers on the road with rotted off brackets. 8.8 metric hardness is about equal to a grade 5 sae.

I believe that they are 21mm. I would do 8.8 or 9.6. The spring hangers that I got to replace the rusted out ones last July had new bolts in them, the shackles did not, so when I ordered them from Rock Auto, they sent me 13/16 bolts with the 5 grade hardness.

Ive always had trouble finding 9/16 as well, found out home depot has them though, sucks because you dont buy them by weight like everywhere else. If you dont mind spending $20+ you can get the oem ones from the dealer.

I'm surprised 9/16 would fit. The oem hardware is 14mm as far as I know. 9/16 is .5625" and 14mm is .551". I used metric grade 12.9 (equivalent to grade 8 standard) 14x2mm on my truck.

The factory bolts are Metric and IIRC are a 10.9 in hardness (grade 8). I always just found a grade 8 in the correct size and called it a day. I hit up the local Tractor Supply, Fastenal and Trader Horn (like a discount old-fashioned general store - they have about everything) stores for what I need. If I have to, I order online. Never checked RockAuto for the bolts, but I have figured out what size of some bolt I need and ordered it through McMaster-Carr - if they don't have it, it probably isn't made.

Grade 8 9/16 x 4.5" long. I've always replaced them with SAE bolts.

Well I ended up getting Grd. 8 14 mm with flanged nuts thru local supplier ( Bitterroot bolt and chain Lewiston, Idaho ) Four bolts and nuts =$16.72
Thanks for input
