Here's my problem..

I have an '89 B2 4x4 that I'm in the middle of installing a 4" lift kit on.. I also have a set of Bushwacker Cutouts for it.. Now my original plan was to go with a 33x14.5x15 Super Swamper. I already purchased 1 to mock up where I was going to cut for the flairs. I ran into issues with another project I'm building ('79 Mustang Coupe) and most of the funds at this time are going to the Stang. I want to get the B2 on the road so it looks like I need to use the stocker wheels for now. How large of a tire can I run on the stock rim? I'm not trying to go huge, I just want something that will look good with a 4" lift & those big ass Buchwackers.. Pics below & Thanks

what size are your stock wheels? the largest ive run was 31x10.5 on a 15x7 rim but ive seen people run 32x11.5 on the same size rims. so if your rims are 7in wide you should be fine running up to an 11.5 in wide tire. think interco has 33x10.5 in some of their swamper tires. you should be safe with that or something close to it. hope that helps you out.

If they are alum they are 15x7 not sure about steelies though, if they are 7" wide you can go 11.5 wide. Interco Super Swamper LTBs come in a 34x10.5

I have the steel wheels.. Anyone know how wide they are??

Those look the same as the ones that came on mine stock. My door tag has 15 X 6, and one of the wheels actually had 15 x 6 stamped on it. I only saw it when I took off the beauty rings.

well just for the explorer ppl out there, on a '93 with stock wheels, sitting stock with GOOD BUSHINGS, you can run a 30-9.50-15 on the stock wheel with out it rubbing, you can go 31 but they will rub on the shocks and any wider and you will lose a lot of trun room

I guess I can try to find some cheap Explorer wheels for now.. ???

Yours is the identical Gen 2 of mine.
LoL

I took my side steps off and got rid of the white wall 215's for a set of 30's.

i have a set of 35x9.5x16 swamper tsl's on a set of stock aluminum 15x7 wheels

Here is an OLD pic of my rig with stock alloy wheels and 32x11.50's. B2.org isnt up, or I could find you a picture, but...US2BTECH used to run 35x12.50's on stock alloy wheels too!
