Laredo Build (I Know It's Not an RBV But I Know A Few People Are Going To Follow

Holy hell, that thing is huge! Get it outside and take some better pics

We would get it outside but I'm guessing where gonna wait either until it's done(a few more months) or until we take it to my work when all the bugs are worked out and flex it out on the fork lift.

adam got a semi when he saw the progress pics of my truck LOL, as of right now the bottom of the door is at my waist level, and im 6'2 aswell, but like i told him b4, its coming along

I was just looking at your rig and thinking "holy **** that is one massive ranger" is that 35 gonna hold up to 38.5's?

lol.......the 35 went out the window when i got the chance to get my old truck back, up front there is now a eb d44, complete with molly axles and warn supreme hubs

Ya I figured you where smarter than to run a dana 35 with 38's.Well that's good to hear that your build is coming along well.

the pineys that had the donor truck before i got it back were runnin 44's on those axles (i musta really built those well) lol

did yall figure out what u were doin for shocks on that thing yet??

I have no clue as what shocks were running,I'd like to see some mono tube shocks on it and not some cheap parts store shocks but since it's Adams money it's all up to him.

well, ill do what i can from my end to make him get some decent shocks for it LOL, not much i can do from the other side of the country though lol

You could buy and ship us some 16" fox 2.5's?

hah lol.......i wont spring for them on my truck LOL, im just gonna run some bilstiens with the external res

I wouldn't either, their nice shocks but more for the person with one deeeeeeeeeeeeeep ass pocket or the person on a budget prerunner.I'm thinking some mono tubes from maybe advanced auto would do ok as long as we don't hit trail after trail all day and get the oil hot.

So I call today a success.

We got the spring perches welded on, (even tho one needs to be moved out a little)

Picked up U-bolts, made the u bolt retainers, got it on it's own weight.

The pinion angle came out well. Doesn't look half bad!

We actually got it to do the wave from the back to the front. It's a flexy mofo

You going to put the back hatch back on? I hope so the XJ/ZJ's have a way of folding them selves up with out the hatch and doors.

Ha! I knew some one was going to ask about that!

The advanced metal work class at our local tech school are going to do a cage as part of a project. I just have to pay for the material and it will be done under the close work of the teacher.

Shitty thing is that I have to wait till their fall calsses start, so I still have the hatch. I just need to get a new lock for it.
